Brig. Gen. Ronnie Balya 'ndc' Head of Mission - Uganda Embassy South Sudan in his remakes started the following. Our philosophy is that; there are good people and bad people in all tribes and religions; your tribe or religion does not qualify you to be a good person! Therefore, we have only two tribes in Uganda - the good people and the BAD people - who promote disunity, hatred, crime etc, BUT, we strive to make the BAD people GOOD people. Therefore, UGANDA INTERESTS in broad terms: *Regional Integration. (For political, military and economic strength) Then we can- *Negotiate as a bloc with other world powers favorable terms of trade and investment- Good treaties. *And also ensure collective security for our region. (An attack on one Member State would mean an attack on all). *Domestic/Regional/Global MARKETS for our goods and services. WE cannot reverse the past, but we can learn from it. We cannot rewrite history, delete it or distort it, but we should not repeat the bad mistakes. History does not repeat itself as some people say, it is fools that repeat past mistakes especially the grave ones like barbaric BLOODSHED! *** Therefore, Uganda as a country has resolved never to allow a repeat of the bad history. The National Resistance Movement government in Uganda has FIVE PRINCIPLES which inform our IDEOLOGY & STRATEGY. The Ideological foundations both in THEORY and PRACTICE are: (1) Patriotism (2) Pan-Africanism (3) Social & Economic transformation (4) Democracy (5) Security for all. UNITY of all Ugandans/Unity in diversity, Irrespective of tribe or religion. SOCIAL SERVICES to the people/service delivery JOB CREATION - to reduce unemployment, especially among youth. WEALTH CREATION - To ensure income generation in all homes. I thank the Hon. Minister and all Excellency Ambassadors and all guests for gracing this occasion.
