On Friday 21st October 2022, the Embassy of Uganda in Juba, South Sudan hosted a cocktail reception to celebrate Uganda's 60th Independence Anniversary.  The function was held at the Palm Africa Hotel in Juba, and was attended by senior officials of the Government of South Sudan,  members of the diplomatic corps, business community,  as well as Ugandans living in South Sudan. 

The Ambassador of Uganda to South Sudan,  H.E Brig. Gen. Ronnie Balya hailed the excellent bilateral relations between Uganda and South Sudan.  He also noted the wider strategic challenges facing mankind in view of contemporary global developments. 

The guest of honour, H.E Dr. Martin Elia Lomoro, Minister of Cabinet Affairs of the Republic of South Sudan hailed the excellent bilateral relations between Uganda and South Sudan.  He also noted that the East African region is speking in unison regarding integration,  recalling the statements of several Heads of State at Kololo on 9th October 2022.
